The fitness industry in Russia is accelerating its transformation towards digital operations, with member entry efficiency, identity verification accuracy, and regional security control becoming the core challenges for club operation and management. HFSecurity has partnered with local integrators to successfully deploy an access control system for a chain gym based on wing gate channels and multifunctional attendance terminals. The system uses two contactless recognition methods, RFID sports wristbands and dynamic QR codes, to achieve efficient member access and precise permission management.

The gym is located in a commercial complex in the center of Moscow, mainly consisting of members from the upper class and surrounding residents. The flow of people is highly concentrated during peak hours in the morning and evening. The original manual verification mode of membership cards at the front desk resulted in long waiting times and frequent borrowing, loss, and forgetting of membership cards, directly affecting the verification of private teaching courses and secondary card income. Special areas such as private parishes and VIP rest areas rely on visual verification by staff, which poses a risk of unauthorized personnel entering and affects the experience of paying members. The management needs an access control solution that can quickly distribute traffic, accurately identify identities, and support flexible permission configuration.
The customer chooses the combination solution of HFSecurity wing gate channel and multifunctional attendance terminal. The wing gate has the characteristics of fast opening and closing speed and high traffic efficiency. A single channel can handle dozens of passes per minute, suitable for concentrated pedestrian flow during peak hours. The main body of the gate is made of stainless steel material, and its appearance is coordinated with the modern decoration style of the gym. The attendance terminal is integrated with the wing gate, and after member recognition, the gate automatically opens, and the system synchronously records the entry time. This terminal integrates QR code scanning and RFID card reading functions, supporting the reading of dynamic QR codes on member wristbands and mobile devices.
Bracelet mode: Members wear a sports wristband (with built-in RFID chip) and can trigger the opening of the wing gate by approaching the card reading area of the gate. This wristband is used for both locker opening and counter consumption accounting, achieving "one ring, multiple uses".

QR code mode: Members can generate dynamic QR codes through the official gym app or mini program, and then align their phone screen with the scanning window to complete identity verification. This method is suitable for members who temporarily do not carry a wristband or prefer contactless access.
Two recognition methods are parallel, and members can choose independently. The front desk also has disposable paper QR codes and temporary wristbands to ensure that members can enter normally in emergency situations.
At the same time as the wing gate is opened, the attendance terminal automatically records the member's entry time, departure time, and duration of stay. The backend attendance system calculates member visit frequency, single training duration, and peak day activity data, providing quantitative basis for private teaching teams to evaluate card renewal intentions and optimize group class scheduling. For special areas such as private parishes and VIP rest areas, independent small scanning/swiping terminals can be deployed, which can only be accessed by authorized members or coaches. The system automatically records the occupancy of the area and prevents overcrowding or abuse of permissions. Management personnel can view the number of people in each area in real-time through mobile or PC devices, dynamically allocate cleaning and security resources, and trigger warnings when there is excessive concentration of people.
The winter climate in Russia is extremely cold, with outdoor temperatures often dropping below minus 30 ℃. The frequent opening and closing of gym entrances and exits leads to large temperature differences and high humidity in the gate area, and scanning windows are prone to fogging and frosting. The HFSecurity wing gate and attendance terminal both adopt industrial grade wide temperature design, and key motors, sensors, and motherboards can operate stably in low temperature environments. The equipment casing has anti rust and anti condensation capabilities. For winter scanning and recognition, the device uses anti fog design to ensure clear lenses and ensure recognition success rate. The wing brake rotating mechanism adopts low-temperature resistant lubricating materials to ensure smooth rotation at low temperatures.

After the system was launched, the gym operation manager provided feedback that "the phenomenon of queuing during the morning rush hour has been basically eliminated, and members can pass through with their wristbands or mobile phones almost imperceptibly, significantly improving the experience. Backend data helped us identify that the number of group classes on Tuesday night far exceeded expectations, and based on this, the course was adjusted to a larger gym room, resulting in a significant increase in the full class rate. Private gym access control is strict, and there have been no more unrelated personnel entering." The finance department also pointed out that the problems of membership card borrowing and impersonation have been basically resolved, and the refund amount for related disputes has decreased significantly.
HFSecurity provides free SDK and complete API interfaces. The gym's technical team seamlessly integrates the access control system with its own membership management software, achieving automatic synchronization and management of member permissions and attendance data, including functions such as expiration and disabling, renewal and extension, private teaching course verification, and abnormal behavior alarm. After several months of successful operation in its first store, the management of the chain gym has promoted the wing gate+wristband/QR code access control solution to other branches. The number of gates, wristband styles, and QR code generation rules for each branch can be flexibly adjusted according to the characteristics of local members.
